The pads are incredibly soft and considering they're made from memory foam, they'll likely get more comfortable over time. Even for my larger ears, the pads only lightly touch the outside of my ears. Oh, in case you were wondering: The AH-D7200 doesn’t fold, or flatten. And why should they? They look spectacular and should be sitting proudly on your shelf, not stored away in a bag somewhere.

This can leaks some sound but it offers great passive isolation, shutting out quite a bit of external noise. A home headphone that strikes a balance between comfort and sound quality is essential for the best listening experience, and the AH-D7200 over-ear offering from Denon aims to deliver on both fronts.I have got an official / recommended EQ settings form the web created by professionals (big thanks). So, I rushed to import it into the APO software and expected this new amazing sound. I was of course disappointed because instead of great sound I got this flat, very boring like sound coming from the D7200. Yes, it sounds good and I can use them in studio for monitoring purpose now but the sound is no more fun. The construction seems to be all metal, wood and leather. I cannot see or feel plastic anywhere, I could be wrong though. Like the older flagships from Denon, the headband assembly uses two metal rods for adjustment on each side. These rods have grooves running down the length of each side, which do a great job at keeping the shape and size of the headphones. The 2nd EQ I am sharing here is my own after few days of playing with settings and trying them on different genres of music and sound. The idea behind it is to make them sound less dark, open them up little bit and make them sound close to the flagship the D9200. I am sure you can achieve even better sound if you havent already. In that case please DO SHARE your EQ settings with us. If you try these settings I created and then try to turn OFF / ON the EQ you will see the quite pleasant difference. Its like somebody opens them up, I like this result a lot. But again please somebody improve this further I would be very interested.

The B&W P9s may have an exuberant low-end, but they handle rhythm and dynamics with greater accuracy and control. They’ve got more punch. And they get across the true intent of a song more faithfully than the Denons. The pads aren’t just pleather - they are constructed with a memory foam base, then wrapped in a stitched leather that was constructed specifically for the AH-D7200. There’s plenty to love about Denon’s mellifluous tone. In fact, you may prefer this balance if you’re after long, comfortable listening sessions. The ear pads are a little firm but I find them very comfortable, they are also of high quality too.So I find it’s design, build quality, looks, construction and comfort to be of very high quality. Reference level, I love it. So much attention to detail, superb work by Denon. I don’t find them clamping nor do they apply too much pressure on my jaws (though my partner found them a little clamping, she has a smaller head than me). Long term sessions are no issue for me. I would not take these out... definitely not portable cans at all and it would be a sin to scratch them I could go on, audition them if you get a chance. They are actually very difficult to fault anywhere to be honest.
